ITS ALL HAPPENING

In march 1988 my dad decided that instead of buying a new board he could build one.
So away we went and purchased epoxy resin wood glue, the back of an old wardrobe(birch) and two lengths of 4x2.After some time he had constructed this weird looking timber mould complete with threaded rod to apply pressure when tightened up ,creating this jig i suppose.24 hours later I was the proud owner of a big pressed rectangle and after attacking this with a jigsaw it looked cross between a natas kitten(nose) and a gator vortex(tail)..........verdict chuffed.
Fast forward 19 years, getting older but still skating, I had been skating wider boards for quite some time 8.5s and the like then I purchased a Firm Lance Mountain pool board ,nice shape 9.5 wide.It was like being transported back in time to my youth , and I have never looked back having been the proud owner of many pool boards since then, theres no way I would ever go back to a popsicle shape again. The old school was back in complete with stalefish boneless, fast plants, fingerflip sweepers, laid back slides,no complys, jailcell recipes, stupids, spermbirds, drill hall, the piv, slappy 50s,intense degree, rad mag, skateboard! and all the other good stuff.............but one problem
The price of yer average 9.5 pool board is alot more than your averge popsicle, mare wid,so after alot of thinking and researching I chose to try pressing out of birch again, built a mould and failed!!!!!!!tried agin ..............failed!!!!!!!!!! tried again ..............failed!!!!!!! one last time ,nearing complete spontaneous combustion, success.
This is what would be the first Scunner board ,then 2 then 3 and so on,it had been pressed under 1.5 tonnes for 24 hours on its own and hand shaped .......verdict stoked
I have now pressed seven in  all different shapes and sizes, but they all have the same bath tub concave, spoon nose and tail, and I am awaiting more timber to keep the wolves at bay over xmas.So that is that for now ,big thanks to the Walloper blogspot ,SxYxBx , Sidewalk forum and  http://www.uprisingeastlothian.com/ for keeping the dream alive.
